Margaret Olley...add flowers to my life

I thought I would share with you the works of the later Margaret Olley, a prolific Australian artist who mainly painted still life. She was an Australian National Treasure who had a colourful personality.

She is one of he many inspirations to my Life List Challenge #38: 'Add flowers to my life'.

At her final exhibition she summed up her life:

''Everyone has a thing they love to do in life - playing bridge, gardening, having children.
Mine is painting, where I celebrate life.''

LOVE LOVE her paintings of flannel flowers. They remind me so much of the Edelweiss flowers I used to pick when I was a child on holidays in Austria.
